Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage all aspects of payroll processing for our B2C business operations in the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Handle end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, including gathering and verifying timekeeping records, calculating wages, and ensuring accuracy in deductions and withholdings.
- Compliance: Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines. Process payroll taxes and deductions accurately and on time.
- Benefits Administration: Coordinate with HR and benefits providers to administer employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including employee information, wages, tax withholdings, and other relevant data. Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed.
- Employee Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and related matters. Address and resolve any payroll-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Audits and Reporting: Assist in conducting periodic audits of payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance. Generate and analyze payroll reports to identify trends and discrepancies.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements in payroll administration. Implement best practices to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, human resources, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a B2C or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
